Internal QA

Most of the projects conjured up at CPS are tested by our internal QA team. We have assembled the most talented and capable QA team possible for our variety of business. They may be finishing a printer driver in 22 languages one day, and starting a project for testing phone lines the next. The team needs to be flexible and to work in a well-defined yet flexible process in order to cope with the change they experience following the completion of each project. They are always in the critical path for our clients, and our clients must be able to depend on them to ensure their products will function correctly and meet the needs of the end-users.

Stoking this fire is the passion this team has for quality software. They simply will not break in the face of pressure from the development team, project management, or our clients. Their voice will be heard although sometimes they need to yell just a bit louder to make sure the whole team understands their position. The company is structured so that the QA team remains an independent voice empowered to do its job.

The AdaptiveQA process is integral in our approach to all projects. We assign a QA Lead at the outset of the project who will use AdaptiveQA to develop an approach that meets our clients' requirements including the specifics of our clients' business environment. The QA Lead begins working with CPS engineers at the design phase on a part time basis. This allows us to better understand what we need to test and when, what technologies we need to be familiar with, and what it will take in time and personnel to test a product for release. We adapt our process as we go to ensure that we are testing the appropriate features at the right time. The QA Plan and associated test plans are kept up to date with each feature change and product change directed by our client.

Our clients demand high quality on short schedules and limited budgets. Our QA team delivers under these circumstances like cows fleeing a school of piranha. OK, maybe the team is well organized so things are never quite so frantic, but you get the idea. We know how to structure testing so it happens the right way at the right time, providing the most efficient process for your project. We keep developers in line so we never have to feel like cows fleeing piranha, and make sure our project managers and our clients maintain realistic schedules and feature sets so we can ship high quality software that makes everyone proud.
