What’s Going On.In The News: April 2008 CPS has teamed with Omneon Video Networks to aid in quality assurance efforts leading to the release of their latest firmware release for the Omneon Spectrum modular media server system. This release provides support for many new features in the Spectrum hardware environment. CPS also concurrently provided QA services to test the latest version of Omneon System Manager, the primary user interface used by the Spectrum and MediaDeck media server systems. April 2008 CPS has completed another new product for Riverdeep: PrintMaster® Nick Jr. Edition. This latest addition to the PrintMaster® consumer print product line incorporates content from some of the most popular kids’ shows on the Nick Jr. network. PrintMaster® Nick Jr. Edition is one of the first products to be built using the Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) within the .NET Framework, and has achieved Microsoft “Works With Windows Vista” certification status. February 2008 CPS has completed a port of Adobe’s Shockwave Player to the Intel Macintosh platform. With the release of this new version, applications built in Adobe Director can now be used on Intel Macs at full native speed. Additionally, Shockwave content can now be used in the browser on any Intel Mac. November 2007 CPS announces the release of a blog printing widget for Blogger, developed for a large print-centric information technology corporation. This version of the popular blog rendering and printing web service provides support for Google’s Blogger blogging platform. October 2007 HP and CPS collaborated to develop an application that allows users to experience how their photos stand up over time, by simulating onscreen photo fading for any digital JPEG image, allowing the comparison of a photo printed with Original HP supplies to a photo printed with non-HP supplies. October 2007 CPS has teamed with Microsoft and a large print-centric information technology corporation to integrate a blog printing solution into the blogging component of the Windows Live Spaces social networking platform. This release has been localized into over 30 different languages, and is available to thousands of blog authors and readers in over 50 international markets. June 2007 CPS worked with Intel to validate the stability of the VIIV Media Center platform. This collaboration involved numerous technologies in standard and high definition video playback and delivery. May 2007 CPS announces the first release of a blog printing solution, developed for a large print-centric information technology corporation. The solution is a hosted web service that enables blog software to produce printable layouts of HTML-based blog entries in PDF format. CPS and the aforementioned corporation have teamed with the leading weblog software and services company, SixApart, Ltd, to launch the initial release on BoingBoing.net, Dooce.com, 43folders.com, and Techcrunch.com. April 2007 CPS designed, implemented, and tested an application to demonstrate the viability of UltraWide-Band (UWB) Radio as a transport medium for HD quality video. The greatest value added was a custom video/audio transport protocol to allow real-time playback of HD video over UWB with less than 1 second startup buffering. The program is intended to be used by Focus’ sales force to demonstrate real time HD video transfer (from both the receiver and transmitter side) and to allow potential customers to “test-drive” the custom UWB card. The platform hosting the UWB card was a custom computer using the Fedora Linux OS, the program was written in C. February 2007 CPS announces the release of The Print Shop® Zoom™ for Riverdeep Inc., LLC. This software is the first vertical of the popular The Print Shop® brand of graphics and publishing software to be built off of an entirely new .NET 3.0 code base, designed and developed in-house at CPS, and is Certified for Windows Vista. February 2007 In it’s continued collaboration with Linden Lab, CPS is pleased to announce 3D Voice in Second Life. November 2006 Professional MXF Components for Final Cut Pro. Now Macintosh users can benefit from an all-digital, file-based media workflow – ingest MXF content from Sony XDCAM, Ikegami Editcam, Grass Valley Infinity digital acquisition tools and Grass Valley Profile|K2 servers to Apple Final Cut Pro real-time editing software – then export from Final Cut Pro for seamless file transfer to Grass Valley servers – using the new Flip4Mac Professional MXF Components. http://www.flip4mac.com/pro.htm October 2006 CPS developed the Parent Control Bar™ for Mac OS X. The Parental Control Bar allows an Administrator (Parent) to limit the Web Browsing experience of Safari users (Children) by a series of filtering methods including White List / Black List, ICRA tags, and user preferences.
