August 2009

eBay and Critical Path Software released another update of eBay Mobile for iPhone. The 1.4 release now includes the much anticipated feature available in the 3.0 OS, Push Notifications. Now users will be alerted when they have been outbid or when items they are watching are ending. In addition, this release has integrated support for PayPal so users can now do an end-to-end eBay transaction using only their iPhone! The 1.4 version of eBay Mobile is one of the few apps with millions of customers that enjoys a 4-star rating in the iTunes App Store.

August 2009

CPS is collaborating with Clearwire, a leading provider of advanced high-speed internet services, to provide quality assurance services for the CLEAR Connection Manager for Mac OS X. A public beta version of the CLEAR Connection Manager for Mac was released in August 2009, bringing Clearwire's 4G WiMAX technology to the Mac community for the first time.

eBay and Critical Path Software released another update of eBay Mobile for iPhone. The 1.3 version was updated to be compatible with the upcoming 3.0 iPhone OS. Many other improvements were made including the addition of Deal of the Day links on the home page, increased the number of results that can be viewed after a search, the ability to leave feedback for sellers as well as search for a sellerÕs other items, and now items in your Won list will indicate whether youÕve paid for the item or left feedback for the seller. eBay Mobile on iTunes App Store

CPS is collaborating with Comcast, a leading provider of entertainment, information, and communications products and services, to provide quality assurance services for the Comcast Connection Manager, part of the newly launched Comcast High-Speed 2go™ wireless data service. The Comcast Connection Manager provides an integrated interface to seamlessly manage 4G (fourth-generation) wireless connections, 3G, and traditional Wi-Fi Internet connections.

Critical Path Software ported the Elemental Accelerator, a hardware-accelerated video CODEC, from the Windows platform to the Mac OS X platform, on an aggressive schedule, in parallel with the Windows product development. Both the Windows product and Mac OS X product launched at the same time, permitting the Elemental Accelerator to reach a broader customer base and removing platform barriers during the purchase cycle.

eBay and Critical Path Software released another update of eBay Mobile for iPhone. The 1.2 update builds on the early success of the eBay iPhone app by adding the ability for users to send, view and respond to messages. Many other improvements were made including an update of the Home page to graphically feature recent, favorite and popular searches as well as an update to the View Item page to make it easier to watch or bid on an item.

CPS teamed up with one of the world's leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of lightweight communications headset products, to release a Mac version of their popular cordless phone with integrated Bluetooth headset. The headset works with landline, mobile phone and computer-based calls. The software simplifies connectivity for Mac users who want to import Address Book contacts to the phone. It also lets you take calls using the Skype VoIP service, using a USB connection.

CPS provided quality assurance services to Move Networks to test their new SDK to support Ad insertion. This complex project included connecting to Ad servers, injecting ads pre-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll. CPS used a combination of automated test tools and functional testing while also building various players to test the end functionality.

Critical Path Software used its deep knowledge of the Macintosh and Windows platforms to help a global leader in connectivity solutions create a software and USB cable solution to transfer files and settings from a Windows PC to a Mac. The product is targeted at Windows users who are switching to a new Macintosh computer. CPS based the sophisticated software on the non-automated process that an Apple Store Genius would follow to transfer files from a Windows machine to a new Mac. The software automatically takes files from a Windows PC and transfers them directly into the associated application on the Mac (i.e., Outlook to Apple Mail, etc.). The most advanced file transfer system of its kind in the market, it was also localized and tested in 11 languages using CPS' extensive QA lab and resources.

CPS announces the release of The Print Shop® 23 Deluxe for Schools, the next in a long series of projects between Riverdeep Inc. and CPS. This software is based upon The Print Shop® 23, our most recent release of the popular The Print Shop® brand of graphics and publishing software. The Print Shop® 23 Deluxe for Schools has been specifically targeted toward the classroom environment, both in terms of content and student/class management by teachers. This software has achieved Microsoft “Works With Windows Vista” certification status.

eBay and Critical Path Software have released eBay Mobile 1.1, the first International version of the application with support for French, Italian, German and Spanish. In addition, this release includes new features that streamline searching and improve the user experience.

HP and CPS have collaborated once again to develop an update to the Light Fade Simulator. This application allows users to experience how their photos stand up over time, by simulating onscreen photo fading for any digital JPEG image, allowing the comparison of a photo printed with Original HP supplies to a photo printed with non-HP supplies.

CPS has completed the Kid Pix® 4 Update project for Riverdeep. This fast-track project provides an emergency functionality fix that resolves a QuickTime/Flash conflict within Kid Pix® Deluxe 4, resulting from the discontinuation of support of certain Flash file extensions in QuickTime 7.3.1 and later versions. CPS utilized the legacy Kid Pix® codebase provided by Riverdeep to produce three replacement SKUs and patch installers, for both Windows and MacOS, in time for the 2008 school year. CPS has teamed with Omneon Video Networks to aid in quality assurance efforts leading to the release of their latest firmware release for the Omneon Spectrum modular media server system. This release provides support for many new features in the Spectrum hardware environment. CPS also concurrently provided QA services to test the latest version of Omneon System Manager, the primary user interface used by the Spectrum and MediaDeck media server systems.

CPS has completed another new product for Riverdeep: PrintMaster® Nick Jr. Edition. This latest addition to the PrintMaster® consumer print product line incorporates content from some of the most popular kids’ shows on the Nick Jr. network. CPS has completed a port of Adobe’s Shockwave Player to the Intel Macintosh platform. With the release of this new version, applications built in Adobe Director can now be used on Intel Macs at full native speed. Additionally, Shockwave content can now be used in the browser on any Intel Mac.

The solution is a hosted web service that enables blog software to produce printable layouts of HTML-based blog entries in PDF format. CPS and the aforementioned corporation have teamed with the leading weblog software and services company, SixApart, Ltd, to launch the initial release on BoingBoing.net, Dooce.com, 43folders.com, and Techcrunch.com.

CPS designed, implemented, and tested an application to demonstrate the viability of UltraWide-Band (UWB) Radio as a transport medium for HD quality video. The greatest value added was a custom video/audio transport protocol to allow real-time playback of HD video over UWB with less than 1 second startup buffering. The program is intended to be used by Focus’ sales force to demonstrate real time HD video transfer (from both the receiver and transmitter side) and to allow potential customers to “test-drive” the custom UWB card. The platform hosting the UWB card was a custom computer using the Fedora Linux OS, the program was written in C.

Critical Path Software, Inc. collaborated with a major provider of Instant Messaging on a port of their most recent Windows technologies to Mac OS X. Work including supporting all underlying protocols, Windows features and sports a super spiffy new user interface for Mac OS X. New features include avatars, sounds, display images, webcam, file transfer, emoticons, stealth settings, conferencing, and contact lists.
