Web Applications
We specialize in creating dynamic, database driven web sites. Using proven tools and
methodologies, we take a full life cycle approach on every project that we run with the
goal of delivering robust, reliable and scalable results.
With software development experience covering almost every popular computing platform,
we can draw on a breadth and depth of talent rarely matched by other Web developers and
design shops.
We participate with our clients not only at the technical level, but at the business
level too, recognizing that the adoption of new technological systems impact the organization
and its customers, as well as the bottom line.
Our philosophy is that Web sites require a multi-disciplinary team based approach. These projects require team members with a myriad of skills and they require rigorous project management oversight to ensure success. We are able to provide services in all of the following areas:
- Analysis and Strategic Planning
- Design and Architecture
- Software Development
- Testing and Quality Assurance
- Deployment
- Sustaining Services
- Project Management

Case Study: Glimmertrain Press
Glimmer Train Press publishes a renowned quarterly reader of fiction and poetry populated with materials from both Standard submissions and the winners of Competitions.
The new system obsoletes the need for manuscripts to be printed, mailed, opened and filed, saving expenses and reducing resource consumption for both the Press and its contributors.

Case Study: Native Seed Network
The Native Seed Network Web site reduces barriers to scientists and land managers seeking to restore native plant populations by providing a way for land managers to find appropriate native species for restoration use. Through the use of a series of forms on the site, seed collectors can document the location of native species found in the wild and register with NSN to have these materials certified. Participation by growers as well as sellers and buyers allow the materials to be tracked through cultivation to out planting, lower the cost and improving the quality of restoration efforts.

Case Study: The Lemelson Foundation
Jerome Lemelson was one of the most prolific inventors of our time.
The foundation’s web site supports efforts efforts to encourage and dissmeinate invention by providing
information about these programs through text, video and links to sites of interest.
CPS transformed an existing static site into one that is dynamically delivered and fully content managed.

Case Study: Track Me
The TrackMe project involved a custom built device combining a handheld computer with a cellular phone
and global positioning system unit.
The cell phone sized unit would send current position information
to a server that stored information in a database. The web site would dynamically allow a user to not
only see the current location of the unit in near real time, but also to trace the route taken by unit
on top of a street map. Position resolution was accurate to a few feet.
Critical Path Software was
able to supply a myriad of resources for the hardware, software and network services required to create a
working prototype of the entire product.

Case Study: Xerox Color Connection
The Color Connection is a customer relationship site for owners of Xerox color and monochrome printers.
The site has a repository updated on a regular basis with new content, such as calendars, greeting cards, newsletters, signs, banners, and educational materials.
Registered users of the site see links personalized based on the profile they maintain, and have access to links for support resources based on the printers they have indicated that they own or use.
